Full Summary
Devout demon hunter Mitzli only wanted to serve their god and atone for their vampiric ancestry. But as they travel to the edge of empire, offering blessings to the victims of demonic pranks, they stumble on an unaccountable trail of destruction. They join forces with fellow hunter Veleiry to investigate, and what they find in the remote borderlands is more ominous than they ever expected.
For decades now, Kor has coasted on other demons' work—not because he's opposed to tormenting humans, but because he prefers doing so on his own terms. When he falls under the scrutiny of his vampiric commander, he suspects that something in their strategy has changed. Between his distrust of his comrades and the tight control the vampire elite exercise over information, however, Kor soon realizes that he can’t find answers alone.
All signs point to change that will forever alter both human and demonkind—but how can a shunned hunter and a single lackluster demon do anything to stop it?
